Get off the couch! And on to the computer...

It sounds crazy, I know, but courtesy of Mike Wurzer is an article directly addressing something I've believed personally for a long time: It's better to be doing something that's engaging than nothing... and the Internet counts.  A long time ago one of my mom's friends, upon hearing that I spent a lot of spare time reading and computing, referred to TV as "chewing gum for the mind" (now known to be quoting Richard Buckminster Fuller)... I never forgot that, and try to keep TV in its place.

Clay's dead on, and I'm adding him to the list of "people who should speak to our company".

Thank you, Jeff Deck.

Although I've "grown up" on the Internet and can munge my text with the best of the LOLCats, I still manage to be a bit of a grammar snob.  Misplaced apostrophes, the commonly errant comma, and the rampant use of which readily make me cringe and wonder whether professionals read literary prose any more, let alone comprehend it.  Thanks to Brad Borevitz, we can even see that the State of The Union addresses have steadily declined to nearly an eighth-grade reading level (per the Flesch-Kincaid Readability Index; way to go, GWB!).

Jeff Deck is a man on a mission, and with him goes all the best wishes I can muster.  (I should start carrying some markers and Wite-Out®.)
